Ecumenical Lenten Service - St John the Evangelist
With an overall theme of “Lenten Prayer”, the April 3, service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street Watertown. Rev. Dave Mantz from United Methodist Churh will present a talk on “The Darkest Hour”. There will also be a service on April 10 at Union Congregational Church, 167 Buckingham Street, with Fr. Saint John the Evangelist is host to the Greater Waterbury Chapter of Crossroads4Christ – A ministry that gives Catholics aged 18 – early 30’s an opportunity to gather for weekly prayer and grow as Missionary Disciples of Jesus. The group began regular meetings in May 2018 and has grown to about 25 in membership, serving Catholics from Watertown, Oakville, Thomaston, Waterbury, Southington, and Torrington. The group meets in the Faith Formation Center on Mondays, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. They adjourn to the church for Eucharistic Adoration until 8:00 PM. New faces are always welcome!

The Council of Catholic Women will hold a Baby Shower for Carolyn’s Place at its April meeting on TUESDAY, April 2 at 7PM in Fr Filip Hall. Members are asked to bring an unwrapped baby gift. Ellen Cavallo, Director Of Carolyn’s Place, will speak and then judge a baby contest. Members are asked to bring baby pictures of themselves to enter the contest, just for fun.

Ecumenical Lenten Simple Supper

This week’s Ecumenical Lenten Service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church. It will begin with a simple soup supper at 6:30 PM, in Fr. Filip Hall, followed by a worship service at 7:30 PM, in the church.

Following a long-time parish tradition, simple suppers will be served most Lenten Fridays and on the night of the Ecumenical Services. Pot-Luck meatless soups are provided and served by parish ministries. Delicious bread is served along side.

Each week will begin with a simple soup supper at 6:30 PM, followed by a worship service at 7:30 PM.
