Our Mission Statement
We, the people of God gathered as Saint John the Evangelist faith community share the life-giving Word, the Eucharist and the sacraments, so that all might come to believe in the Son and have eternal life. Given this abundant life, we feel called to share our gifts and our faith with others.
Archbishop's Annual Appeal
The weekend of November 28-29 is Commitment Weekend for the Archbishop's Annual Appeal. To the extent that you are not adversely affected financially by the pandemic, please respond to the 2020 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal as best you can. Any gift, no matter the size, is truly appreciated and can make a significant difference. You can click on the image above to make your donation.
If you have not made your gift to the 2020 Appeal, please give prayerful consideration to including the Archbishop's Annual Appeal this year in your year-end giving, as all gifts can be paid through December 31, 2020.
All funds contributed to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal are used exclusively for the purposes outlined in the Appeal literature, which can be found at https://archdioceseofhartford.

Dispensation Extended through February 2021
In light of the recent increase in coronavirus cases within the state of Connecticut and continued uncertainty regarding the extent and duration of the coronavirus in the state and throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford, Archbishop Blair has now extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation for all the Faithful of the Archdiocese of Hartford through Tuesday, February 16, 2021, which is the eve of Ash Wednesday.
Weekend Masses Schedule
At St. John the Evangelist Church our Mass Schedule will be:
Saturday: 5:00 PM Vigil
Sunday: 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM
There will be no 5:00 PM Sunday Mass, at this time.
Those intentions will be included in another Mass.
Our 9:00 AM Mass will be available through “livestream” on Facebook.
Archbishop Blair has dispensed from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass every Catholic in the Archdiocese of Hartford through Saturday, November 28. If you are in poor health, elderly, have a pre-existing condition, or are vulnerable to disease for any other reason, please do not plan to attend Mass in person at this time.

Online Giving Option
Autumn is a good time to review your financial support to your parish. It is your support that helps us build a strong faith community through the programs we are able to develop and offer, our liturgies, our staff, and caring for our buildings and grounds just to name a few.
As you review your financial support, we ask you to consider the convenience of signing up for Online Giving with WeShare. The benefits for the parish include more consistent giving with recurring contributions; online donation summaries for record keeping; reaches a wider demographic of givers; and accommodates all special parish collections. WeShare also makes donating simple and easy for our parishioners, while at the same time keeping the process safe and secure.
If you would like to enroll in Online Giving, please click on the image above. If you have any questions or concerns about the program or would like help setting up your account, please call our parish office at 860-274-8836.
"Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you." --Luke 6:38
