Grades 1,2,4,5,6

The title of the program for grades 1,2,4,5,6, is called Family Formation.

Family Formation is a unique family catechesis program which promotes parents as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic Faith. The lessons and activities follow the Church’s Liturgical 3 year cycle. Each
family goes through the 3 year cycle two times, learning and practicing the rhythm of our Catholic Faith while engaging in in-person classes and take home lessons.

The students are allowed to miss ONE out of EIGHT classes during the program year due to sickness and/or school/family activities!

Basic Components:
Monthly In-Person Classes for kids and parents.
Parents are required to attend 5 out of the 8 parent sessions
Monthly take home Lesson Packets

More information on Parent Sessions:
Parents/guardians are required to attend 5 out of the 8 parent sessions. Parent sessions take place in the church building whenever there is a class for grades 1,2,4,5,6. The parent/guardian needs to attend only 1 session per
month, even though you may have several children attending different days in a given month.

For example, if you have kids in grades 2 and 6, you do not need to come to a parent/guardian session for your 2nd grader and 6th grader. If you do so, you will hear the same topic and the same information for that month.
All parent sessions in a given month are on the the same topic, that topic is what the kids are also learning on their grade level. For this reason, if you are not able to attend a parent/guardian session when your child has a
class, you can come to a parent/guardian session on another day that month when other grade group has a class.

Each month, the parent/guardian has 3 calendar days to choose from per given month. Only one parent/guardian needs to attend and you can also authorize someone else from your family to attend in your place. Some
parents/guardians ask their child’s godparent/s to help.

There will be a sign in sheet for the parent sessions

More information on Home Lesson Packets:

Each month each family will be receiving the monthly Home Lesson Packet. Each Home Lesson packet has a review sheet with a due date. ALL 8 review sheets must be handed in! This means you need to hand in 8 out
of 8 review sheets in order to complete the program year and move on with the following grade group.

There is only One Home Lesson packet per family, even if you have children in multiple grades within the bracket of grades 1,2,4,5,6.

The review sheets can be submitted in these two ways (one review sheet per family):
Option 1: Scan and email the review sheet to stmmreledgintare@gmail.com
In the subject line of your email write: Home Lesson // Family Name (to which the child is registered)// and month of the review sheet
Option 2: Your child brings the review sheet to class and drops it into a designated bin
