    Monday May 6, 2019 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

    Saint John the Evangelist is host to the Greater Waterbury Chapter of Crossroads4Christ – A ministry that gives Catholics aged 18 – early 30’s an opportunity to gather for weekly prayer and grow as Missionary Disciples of Jesus. The group began regular meetings in May 2018 and has grown to about 25 in membership, serving Catholics from Watertown, Oakville, Thomaston, Waterbury, Southington, and Torrington. The group meets in the Faith Formation Center on Mondays, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. They adjourn to the church for Eucharistic Adoration until 8:00 PM. New faces are always welcome!

  • Council of Catholic Women

    Monday May 6, 2019 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

    The Council of Catholic Women will hold election of officers at their next meeting on Monday, May 6 at 7 PM in Fr Filip Hall. Fr Donald LaSalle from Lourdes in Litchfield will be our guest speaker. All women of the parish are welcome. 

    Each month we collect items for the local food bank. This month there is a special need for toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant and facial tissues. 

    Money will be collected from anyone wishing to attend the June banquet ($25) and the luncheon after Mass at Lourdes on Ascension Thursday ($15).

    Our parish Pro-Life Ministry will meet on Wednesday, May 15 at 7:00 PM in the Faith Formation Center Conference Room. They will pray the rosary for life and will meet to discuss plans for future pro-life events. All are invited to join them!

    If you have suffered the death of a child, parent, spouse or friend, St. John's Bereavement Support group is here to help you. The next regular meeting will be Monday, May 20 from 1 - 2 PM in the Convent Meeting Room.

  • Meat Loaf for Soup Kitchen

    The next time our parish is scheduled to supply and serve the noon meal is this Saturday.

    If you can supply a 2 lb. cooked meat loaf, cans of vegetables, or would like to help serve, please sign up on the sheet located at the parking-lot side entrance to the church.

    Bring your meat loaf and vegetables to the church parking lot at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
