Advent Wreath Making Workshop – December 02

Please plan to attend our annual Advent Wreath Making Workshop on Saturday evening, December 2, at 5:00 pm at St. Mary Magdalen Church.  This is your annual opportunity to make a tabletop Advent wreath for your home.  All materials will be provided.  The wreaths will be blessed by Deacon Michael Malfitano.

Preregistration is required; sign up on the sheets at the entrances to our churches or call the office at 860-274-8836. A $5.00 donation is requested for each wreath.  Lite refreshments will be available.  Thank you.

The tradition of lighting the Advent wreath is powerful ritual which ties families and generations together.  The circular wreath is enhanced with four candles, usually 3 purple candles and one rose candle (which symbolizes he nearness of Jesus).  A candle is lit each week in anticipation of Christmas – the Nativity of our Lord.  Lighting the candles in darkness is a meaningful experience and delivers the strong message that Christ is the light of the world.
