  Saint John the Evangelist is host to the Greater Waterbury Chapter of Crossroads4Christ – A ministry that gives Catholics aged 18 – early 30’s an opportunity to gather for weekly prayer and grow as Missionary Disciples of Jesus. The group began regular meetings in May 2018 and has grown to about 25 in membership, serving Catholics from Watertown, Oakville, Thomaston, Waterbury, Southington, and Torrington. The group meets in the Faith Formation Center on Mondays, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. They adjourn to the church for Eucharistic Adoration until 8:00 PM. New faces are always welcome!

  Event tickets are being sold after weekend Masses at St. John the Evangelist Church, through February 3. Tickets are also available at the Parish Office, Monday through Friday.

  We'd like to invite all men in the parish to come to the February Men's Group meeting this Tuesday at 7:30 pm in the Church Hall. Father Anthony will be joining us and it will be a great opportunity for us to spend some time with our pastor. We'll meet from 7:30 to 9 for a bit of prayer, sharing and some social time. We invite you to come even if you had not been there before.

  Our Parish Pro-Life Ministry will meet on Wednesday February 20 at 7:00 in the Faith Formation Conference Room. Al are welcome to join them as they pray the rosary for life and then make plans for future pro=life events in the parish and around the archdiocese.

• Novena to the Holy Spirit February 21- 29

  We are offering an opportunity to all parishioners to grow in our Faith as a community here at St. John's. We will be holding a novena in honor of the Holy Spirit starting on Thursday, February 21.
  
  The novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas, since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful for the light, strength and love so sorely needed by every Christian.
  
  We will begin the novena on Thursday, February 21 at St. John Church from 6:30 - 7:15 PM. Members will continue the novena through personal prayer and reflection for the next nine days on their own, coming together again only on the last day of the novena for a closing prayer and reflection (March 1).

  If you can supply a 2 lb. cooked meat loaf, cans of vegetables, or would like to help serve, please sign up on the sheet located at the parking-lot side entrance to the church.
  
  Bring your meat loaf and vegetables to the church parking lot at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
