Weekend Mass: Continues to follow the 5pm (sat), 7:30am, 9am, and 11am schedule. Please note the 9am Mass has been the most crowded and has been running near capacity. Streaming will continue at the 9am Mass. This weekend, Fr. George Makuka will celebrate the liturgy.

Holy Hour & Confession: Monday’s 7:15 holy hour and 6pm confession hour will continue this week.

Sending Off Two Young Men to Seminary: Two young men that have been active within ministries at St John the Evangelist will be entering seminary, for the Archdiocese of Hartford, this week. C4C Young Adult Ministry will be holding a reception following Monday’s Holy Hour, underneath the “Activity Tent”, located near the Faith Formation Center. Gregory Meyer has been an active member and key leader in our Young Adult Ministry for several years now and has helped spread the Gospel and Christian Life to countless young adults. Spencer Malley has been active in several local Catholic Schools, including St John the Evangelist. Spencer, too, has been busy spreading the teachings of Christ, especially through music ministry, and more recently as a member of our C4C chapter. Greg and Spencer are two of the three men entering seminary for the archdiocese this year. We wish them all the best!

Saint John School Registration: There are some spaces available in Pre-K and lower grades (K-5). The middle school is currently at capacity, however there is a waiting list for interested families. It is helpful to know that should the governor close schools due to COVID spikes, Pre-K programs may still remain open. If you are considering your education options for your child, our school principal, Marylou Iannone, would be glad to speak with you about St John the Evangelist School. You can reach her at miannone@stjohnwtn.org

Campus Projects: Our staff and volunteers have been stepping outside of their normal job descriptions the past 4 months, making improvements in all our buildings.

Rectory Sidewalk Our custodian, David Hernandez, Fr Anthony, along with volunteers, razed the old sidewalk, leading to the parish office. A level, concrete sidewalk was then poured. Fr Anthony has been single-handedly constructing a beautiful lamp post to complete the project.

Bulletin Boards: Our DRE, Carmelina Calabrese along with John Lynch, installed 8 bulletin boards, in the FFC. Fixtures, such as these were made possible through a Watertown Foundation Grant.

Network Upgrades: In 2018, our staff installed a communications conduit to carry phone and network wiring from the parish office, to the FFC. WiFi access points were also installed at this time. Presently, John Lynch and Peter Thompson are adding the church building onto the network. Access points will be installed in the Sacristy, Sanctuary, and Parish Hall. This upgrade will provide solid infrastructure to support for streaming, hybrid virtual meetings, simulcasts, contactless transactions, and more.
