LaBonne’s Market Support - Please save your register slips from LaBonne’s Market and deposit them in a “LaBonne’s” box at the church entrance. LaBonne’s Market donates to St. John the Evangelist Church .5% of your total sales. This really adds up! Recently we received a check for $339 for several months worth of slips! 

Crossroads4Christ - There will be no Crossroads 4 Christ Meeting on Monday, November 12. They will resume on Monday, November 19. Adoration will still be held from 7-8 pm. 

Seasonal Decorating of Church Lawn - In preparation for parade passers-by, Saint John Parish will be decorating the outside of the church on Friday, November 24. Parishioners, young and old, are invited to assist in the stringing of lights, filling and setting of luminary bags, and nativity scene set up. We will meet around 1:30 PM and conclude with the lighting of the bags prior to the start of the parade.

Save the Date! Advent Mission - The spiritual development committee is delighted to share that we will be welcoming Deacon Arthur Miller to lead a two night Advent Mission on Thursday December 6 and Friday December 7 at 7 pm, in the church. Deacon will be sharing on ways we can better  reserve Advent as a season of preparation for the coming of Jesus in our hearts and homes.  More information to follow as we get sooner. 

Operation Christmas Child Outreach Project -  We have distributed over 200 show boxes in the past weekends for OCC. This outreach project helps children that are in need in other areas of the world. As we come closer to Christmas, we will have another opportunity to help those in our own community. You can return the filled shoe boxes to the church this weekend and next weekend or two the parish office, weekdays 9-5.

Annual SJS Wreath Sale - You might still have a bright orange pumpkin from Saint John but in a few more weeks it will be time to change your decorations. As always, St John School will be selling Christmas Wreaths on December 1 & 2 at the weekend Masses. 

Watertown Ecumenical Thanksgiving Meal — The Greater Watertown Clergy are sponsoring the 4th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held, Sunday, November 18, 6 PM at Union Congregational Church Hall on Buckingham Street in Oakville. Come and enjoy a full turkey dinner with fellow community members. There is no fee for dinner, but participants are encouraged to bring a dessert to share.
