Parish Life News May 8

Mother's Day is Sunday. Saint John the Evangelist will be honoring/remembering mothers of our community by displaying names in front of the altar on Sunday and the coming week. A large sign is being placed on the front lawn of the church honoring mothers of the community.

Sunday Mass will be live streamed on Sunday at 8:30. We did experience some technical issues with the audio feed, last week, which has now been resolved.

Food Drive: Last weekend's food drive was a success. We collected thousands of items which are being distributed to local residents through Watertown social services. We filled two big vans. We are thankful for all of those who were able to share what God has given them and honored to help those in need, on his behalf. If you were not able to donate last weekend, our friends at St Mary Magdalen Parish are hosting a drive tomorrow (May 9) from 12-3, in the church parking lot.

Memorial Day: Watertown has canceled the Memorial Day Parade this year. Additionally, the Memorial Day Mass at Mt Olivet Cemetery has been canceled. Our friends at Watertown Park and Rec, in conjunction with the Watertown-Oakville Veteransâ?? Council, are asking community members to participate in Project Red, White, & Blue.  Put out American flags, big and small on Monday, May 25th - Memorial Day.   Help us line the streets of Watertown and Oakville during Project Red, White & Blue - Flags Up for the Fallen campaign this Memorial Day.
