Advent Wreath Servers - Father Anthony is seeking families, couples, or individuals to light the Advent Wreath at each weekend Mass, this Advent, meaning there are 20 slots to fill. Call the Faith Formation Office or Email Carmelina  at dreatstjohn@gmail.com
 
Christmas Wreath Sale this weekend by St John School, before and after Masses this weekend. Wreaths are $15 Cash or Check. 
 
Advent Mission with Deacon Art Miller will be held Thursday Dec 6 and Friday Dec 7 at 7pm in the church. The 75 minute program will include an animated and lively talk by Deacon and some time for meditation. Following the talk on Thursday, there will be a light reception, in the church hall. A free will offering will be taken for Deacon’s charity. Please make some time to attend one of the talks, which although different each night are not sequential. The feasibility of future Missions or Speakers is dependent on attendance. 
 
Christmas Cookie Sale is Next Weekend. Sponsored by LifeTeen, this fundraiser has a reputation for some delectable confections. LifeTeen will share half the proceeds with the St Vincent de Paul Mission of Waterbury, and utilize the other half for Youth Ministry programming. 
 
Living Nativity, Sponsored by Faith Formation, is a short Christmas Pageant held on the front portico of the church, featuring music, vibrant costumes, and of course… A REAL DONKEY. A great way for people, young and old, to hear the Christmas Story - straight from Luke’s Gospel. We are still looking to fill some of the roles with children grades K-4. 
 
Giving Tree - The Council of Catholic Women is once again looking to help local families that are not able provide their children with presents this Christmas. 
 
Saint John School Nativity Pageant - Gather Round the Crib will be presented on Friday December 7th, by the 2nd grade class.  7pm, at the Parish Center/ School Gym. All in the community are invited. 
 
Evangelize Electronically - Saint John would like to see how you are keeping Christ in your home this Advent. Please share pictures of your Nativity Set, Advent Wreath, or other meaningful item to this email so we can share them to our church community.
 
Immaculate Conception Holy Day of Obligation - Next Saturday, December 8, is a Holy Day of obligation. Mass will be offered at 10am and a Vigil Mass on Friday December 7 at 5pm (Mission begins at 7). 
 
Most Importantly please remember to keep Christ in Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season and everything we do should reflect this!
