Virtus Training Session on April 1 at St. John Church

NOTICE TO ALL LECTORS,  MINISTERS OF COMMUNION,  USHERS, CHOIRS,  AND OTHER MINISTRY MEMBERS

As you may have read in the bulletin, we will be offering a Virtus Training session on April 1  at St. John Church.  Virtus: “Protecting God’s Children” is a program which is mandated for all parish staff and all volunteers who might volunteer in the presence of the elderly or of children.  That includes anyone who is in the sacristy before Mass, right down to anyone who runs a parish event that has children or the elderly present.  It is especially important for those who visit the homebound or nursing home or hospitals.  That means, ALL OF YOU are asked to take this one time training....and fill out paperwork for an archdiocesan background check, returning the form to the parish office, asap.

PRE-REGISTRATION FOR VIRTUS IS REQUIRED. To register, go to the website www.virtus.org  Click on REGISTRATION in the left column.   You may wither VIEW A LIST OF SESSIONS or BEGIN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.

For either option, Select Hartford, CT (Archdiocese)  and follow the instructions to create a password and register for the class.

All members of the clergy, parish employees, and adult volunteers must pre-register online.

If you are unable to pre-register online, please contact The Office of Safe Environment - Kathleen Nowosadko at 860-541-6491 for further assistance... OR CALL THE PARISH OFFICE.

If you are not sure of whether or not you have already completed your background check and/or attended a VIRTUS session, please call the Parish Office and we will check our records.
