September 10 Men's Group Meeting: Come join us for our meeting..and some pizza!

September is definitely with us, bringing a different “feel” with it and a realization that fall is only weeks away!   For all us, change is a regular part of our lives even if it is something as simple as a change in the seasons.  For most, we live with changing situations in our lives; changes in employment, family issues or changes in health. Some of these can be sources of joy or sources of worry for us but we all experience them.   It’s helpful to know that whatever changes come our way, God has promised the grace with which to handle them.   That is at the center of what we’ll be sharing about in our Men’s Group meeting next week.

The Monthly Men's Group meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 10th at 7 pm in the Church hall. We are very pleased to have Father Lavorgna as our guest that evening. He'll be speaking on a special topic, based on something we "hear" at every Mass.  Each Mass said, from the early days of the Church is, in part, a celebration of our community as followers of Christ. Father Lavorgna will be sharing his insights into what it really means for each of us, today, when we hear the words said while the Sacred Host is elevated before receiving Holy Communion -- "Blessed are those Called to the Supper of the Lamb" and what importance it holds for us as faithful Catholic men?

How do we recognize that we are really "blessed", especially when the lives we experience often may not feel that way?  How can we recognize that truth and, as importantly, help one another in being that community of followers we are called to be?

Please note that we’re going to try something a little new in September. We invite you to come at 6:30 for some pizza and socializing before our time with Father Lavorgna.  Come and grab a slice and some time to talk to one another

Our meeting will begin at 6:30 pm with our talk at 7 pm in the Church Hall at St. John's.  Come join us for some fellowship and sharing.  Feel free to come with friends and neighbors to enjoy our time together as we get closer to another change in season!
