Men's Group Meeting - Tuesday September 19th at 7:30 in Church Hall

We’ve been meeting for four years and it’s been a good source of sharing; a place where we can talk openly about our faith and find encouragement in the fact that we are a group of men living out our lives to be better followers of Christ, better Catholic men, better supporters to our church and especially to one another.    I was reminded of the verse from Matthew 18:20, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”  When we meet to pray for our intentions, to talk about how our faith “works”, when we discuss what our speakers have said and when we talk with one another, we do that knowing that Christ has promised to be there when we are....every time.

As we go into Fall (yep...it’s that close..),  Brendan McDonald, from our parish and the Men’s Group will be sharing with us about his experience with the ACTS Retreats, a way that Catholic men (and women) have found that refreshes and renews how they look at their lives as followers of Christ.  This is not a chance to talk about “retreats” but rather what is happening in this special way.  Father Jim Sullivan attended his first ACTS retreat over a year ago and has said that it was a profound experience that has brought him into a deeper relationship with Jesus, with the Church and with one another.     We’ll also have a short note/reflection on a topic that has been at the heart of many of our discussions this past year, namely what we ask of God.  We have often talked about what God asks of us but how often do we think about what we ask of God...and are we okay with how that works in our daily lives?

Please come and join us on Tuesday, September 19th in the parish hall and bring a friend.
