Dear St John the Evangelist Community,

After years of dedicated service to St. John School and the parish community, Marylou Iannone is retiring from her position as principal effective August 1st.

Marylou has served in many roles at St. John School over the past 19 years but it is in her most recent position as principal that Marylou's talent, imagination, energy and commitment to Catholic education have truly shone through.   Marylou's dynamic leadership elevated the education experience combining high academic standards in a nurturing environment.  She has left a legacy of excellence in Catholic education that will endure.  Challenges in Catholic education are many but this past year brought an unexpected one with the global pandemic.  Marylou navigated the many challenges and kept our students in-person from the first day of school in September. Along with our amazing faculty and staff, Marylou made sure our students continued to have the highest quality education experience in a safe environment.

Together with the entire St. John Parish community, I am very grateful to Marylou for her unwavering commitment to St John School and I wish her every blessing for a healthy, happy, much-deserved retirement!

Our search for a new principal is underway. We are confident that we will soon choose a candidate from qualified applicants who will maintain our high standards in Catholic education. We will be keep you informed as we work and plan this summer for a smooth transition and a successful opening for the coming school year.

Sincerely in Christ,

Rev. Anthony J. Smith
